"Blue Moon Song 2" Lunar Luhna/Arhes doujinshi translation doujinshi by Sora no Mori (Forest of Sky) translation by R. Capowski (racapowski@sceneryrecalled.com) *************************************************************************** pg. 1 [Luna smiles.] "......I've decided! I'm coming too!" FOREWORD H'llo. It's Hiro Yuyama. This is our second Lunar book. Plus - whaddaya know, the cover's in color. Looks kinda lousy, though... (*Plus*,) on top of it all, as I was finishing the printing, I cut my hand on the cutter. Ow... (*sob*...) All told, this's nothing but parts that hurt to look at, but please stay with me until the end. Hiro Yuyama 7/1998 pg. 2 FREE TALK 1 [Jessica prays.] I bought Lunar for the PS. I was thrilled to see all the animated parts that were so little on the SS [Sega Saturn] big on the screen. The music, too, it was kinda like it was arranged - or maybe it was just my mood? AND THE PS VERSION COMES WITH A POSTER!! And I _believed_ that, and I bought it, but I wasn't able to get the poster when I bought it (but this was about a week after its release, so it's my fault, too [sweatdrop]), and I was _crying_, but one of my brother's friends had both _his_ big sister and younger brother get one (or something - I'm not sure), so he handed one over to me, and I was soooo happy again--! I haven't put it up yet, though... pg. 3 [Luhna as an angel, her eyes closed, her wings spread.] Luhna [thinking]: -...I wanted wings...- - YOUR WINGS - by Hiro Yuyama pg. 4 Luhna [thinking]: ...wings, so I could go with Arhes anywhere.... [Arhes and Luhna are at Saith Harbor.] Arhes: Tomorrow we'll finally be in Meribia, Luhna! Luhna: Uh - yeah, of course! Nall: ? What's wrong, Luhna? You don't look good! (Uhh...you're pale...) pg. 5 Luhna [shaking head]: Uh - ohhh, no, not at all. I'm OK! (Mm!) Arhes [turning away]: OK. Nall [looking at Arhes]: ? Luhna [thinking]: From time to time, [Arhes smiles; it's dazzling.] Luhna [thinking]: I get to thinking - Arhes: We'll be leaving early tomorrow, though, so get to bed early, OK! Luhna [thinking]: - about if I'm not... pg. 6 Luhna [thinking]: ...just a burden to Arhes. [Arhes smiles again.] Arhes: G'night, then, Luhna! Nall: 'Night! SFX for Nall's wings: ::flapflapflapflapflap:: Luhna [thinking]: ...if I'm not - Luhna [smiling impassively]: Mm. Good night. Luhna [thinking]: stealing Arhes's freedom away from him... pg. 7 [Luhna envisions Arhes, an angel framed by the sun.] Luhna [thinking]: Arhes has it in him to go anywhere... but I... pg. 8 Luhna [thinking]: I... [Luhna thinks back to their childhood. Little Luhna sings while Arhes sits attentively.] Child Arhes: Wooowww! pg. 9 Child Arhes: Your singing was super-pretty, Luhna! It always is! Like an angel! Child Luhna [blushing]: (Heh heh!...) Arhes's Dad: Well, you never know - if Luhna's an angel, then she just might fly back to the sky! [Luhna is amused, but Arhes is horrified.] Child Luhna: (Hee hee!) Child Arhes: HUHHHH--?? pg. 10 Child Arhes: Ah... I... Ah... aa-- [crying] NOOOOO!! [Arhes breaks down crying, while Luhna tries to comfort him.] Luhna [thinking]: I knew right away that Father was joking, but... Child Arhes: WAAAAAHHHH-- Child Luhna: No! No! It's OK! Child Arhes: *sob* *sob* *sob* Child Luhna: Arhes! I'm not going anywhere! pg. 11 Child Arhes [tears clearing up]: ...really?... Child Luhna [smiling]: Yeah! I promise! Child Arhes: Oh, I'm so glad! [Li'l Arhes joyfully rushes to hug a blushing Luhna.] Luhna [thinking]: And then... Child Arhes: Then it's a promise! Luhna [thinking]: the Arhes who cried - Child Arhes: We'll always be together, right, Luhna? pg. 12 [In Luhna's mind, Arhes grows into the teenager he is now.] Luhna [thinking]: that Arhes got stronger and stronger... And though he can go on by himself... Arhes [in Luhna's mind]: We'll always be together, right, Luhna? Luhna [thinking]: Oh, Arhes... pg. 13 Luhna [thinking]: ...are you still keeping that old promise? [Luhna sits sadly by a window in her room, the Blue Star hovering above. The curtain flutters; she blinks her eyes, as if waking.] Luhna: Was...was I dreaming...? Luhna [thinking]: I want to go everywhere with Arhes. but... ...but I can't! pg. 14 [Luhna thinks back to a battle, with Arhes defending Luhna from the monsters (and Nasch running away in the background).] Luhna [thinking]: I don't want to get in Arhes's way! [In the present, Luhna stands before Arhes, tears running down her cheeks.] Luhna [thinking] I don't want you to lose your wings, Arhes... Luhna: It's the only way, Arhes. [Luhna thinks back to the two of them as kids, laughing together.] Luhna [thinking]: ...so I can't keep our promise. I knew that, sometime, this day would come... pg. 15 Luhna [thinking]: and so... Arhes: Huh? You're going back to Burg? [panicking] Why!? Nall: Yeahhh... C'mon, let's go together, Luhnaaa... [Luhna shyly, sadly looks away.] Luhna: ...uh-uh. I've already made up my mind. pg. 16 [Luhna smiles at Arhes as she cries.] Luhna [thinking]: I don't want to get in your way, Arhes. That's why...that's why I'll wait with Mother and Father for you to come back to Burg. [Arhes looks at Luhna, pained.] Luhna [thinking]: So keep going... become a Dragonmaster... Arhes: Luhna... pg. 17 [We see Arhes on the side of the ship to Meribia. Luhna calls to him from shore.] Luhna: Make sure your dreams come true! I'll be waiting for you in Burg, you know! Luhna [thinking]: ...This is for the best... you're certain to become a Dragonmaster on your own, Arhes... pg. 18 Arhes: LUHNA! [Arhes reaches his hand out to Luhna.] Arhes: Let's go together! To a new world - to a wonderful adventure! [Luhna, tears in her eyes, looks...] pg. 19 [...and then jump, happily, into Arhes's arms.] Arhes: IT'S NO GOOD WITHOUT YOU, LUHNA! pg. 20 [On the boat, Arhes smiles, and Luhna cries in relief. Nasch looks on starry-eyed.] Nasch: I'll have that *too*, some day... Nall [skeptically]: Yeah, right... Luhna [thinking]: From now on, whatever happens, if I'm with Arhes, it'll turn out all right... pg. 21 [We flashback to a happy Arhes and Luhna, together as children.] Luhna [thinking]: because Arhes... Child Arhes [in flashback]: You look just like an angel, Luhna! Luhna [thinking]: was the one who gave me wings to fly... FIN pg. 22 CONVERSATION (conversation #2 [sweatdrop]) [Mia picks flowers while an embarrassed Nasch wears a flower wreath.] Hiro Yuyama: Hi. It's Yuyama. We still haven't learned, so we're going to do another crosstalk . The Lunar 2 release date is coming up in a week, and it'll be so great. I wanna play it right away! Masshii: No kidding! It'll be so great! At any rate, the characters seem to be as deep as those from Lunar 1 (lol), so it looks really interesting. Oh, I'm a little late with this, but - hi! I'm Masshii. [Note: "Masshii" is in katakana and is probably meant to be a Western name like "Massey" or "Massy," but since I don't have confirmation on the spelling, I'm going with the raw.] Hiro: I've looked (and listened to) a lot of Lunar multimedia since writing the last book. I finally bought all the CD's and read the novels. The novels were fun, since they told a different story from the games. Masshii: But Ramus isn't in them (lol). And they also had a kinda sad tone to them...well, anyway. Ghaleon's in the novelverse Lunar, and he's cool, naturally. Hiro: Ghaleon _is_ cool! He's so pale (lol). Oh, my - am I wrong? Speaking of Ghaleon, a manga came out, too-- Masshii: Vheen Hikuusen Monogatari. When I first saw the book and the 780-yen price tag, I thought it was unusually high, but when I actually looked inside the book, it was good enough for me to understand the price. Yeah, the story was good. It was Ghaleon (lol). pg. 23 [Nall looks out to the ocean on the ship to Meribia. He says "I love the sea" and licks his lips. The artist makes a "wave" SFX and notes, "it's supposed to be the ocean [sweatdrop]".] Hiro: Yeah. But it _was_ a good story. I wanna do something like a gaiden-- And I hope the novel comes out soon. At least, *I* hope so. Masshii: If Vol. 4 doesn't come out soon, I'm gonna forget everything that happened in the first three volumes (lol). It looks like they're going to wrap everything up in the next volume, but I wonder if they really will? Hiro: I wonder? Well, I'll be looking forward to it. Yeah. I even get to thinking stuff like, I wanna try writing stories that follow the novels-- Masshii: When you get the urge, just (?) go for it! Now, to change the subject again - with the PS release of Lunar and Lunar 2 coming out, too, I wonder if Lunar is getting high-profile... Like, for instance, maybe there'll be even more Lunar doujin circles at Natsukomi than last year! Maybe (probably not, though...). Hiro: Ehhh, registration for Natsukomi was, like, back in February, so-- The PS version hadn't come out yet and stuff. But I was so happy that the animation on the PS version had been enlarged. On several screens, I thought the animation was so pretty... (more than the SS version, I mean) Masshii: But I think if they added even a little _something_ extra, if they could've, it would've been nice... I mean, were you satisfied just with the animation being enlarged? Mmmm... (What'm I saying "mmmm" at?) ANYHOW, Lunar 2's coming out, and that happy occasion is just around the corner. Hiro: Yeah! Uh-oh - we've already run out of space. Anyhow, thanks for sticking with us through these crazy conversations! Later! END pg. 24 BROMIDE by Hiro [Nasch has gotten hold of Mia's in-bed bromide.] Nasch [elated]: I _FINALLY_ GOT IT!!! Nall: Hey, Nasch! (Hey, Mia! Cool!) *Who* gave you that photo? Nasch [stopped in tracks]: Uh-- Nall: Huh? Nasch [thinking]: ...now that he mentions it...with her just waking up (?) and everything...WHO could've?... pg. 25 [Nasch, diagram-like, retraces his steps.] Nasch [back and forth to himself]: *The bromide.* How'd you get it? *I bought it.* From where? Ramus's shop. *SO THAT MEANS...* [An image appears of Ramus with a camera around his neck.] Ramus [in Nasch's mind?]: Heh heh. [Nasch stops short.] Nasch: ...... [murmuring] THUNDERBOLT. [We hear thunder.] Arhes [in background]: H-hey, [sweatdrop] lightning struck over the--huh!? pg. 26 FREE TALK 2 [Ghaleon stares in half-portrait alongside the page. Author's note: "so pale...[sweatdrop]] I tried drawing Ghaleon, but...it's tough... I like him compared to the others, but...well, he's so *pale*. The last battle surprised me. C'mon, it's super tough! (lol) It took an insane amount of time before he was defeated. I now have a save just after defeating him, so I can see the ending at any time, so I only had to go through all that once... (I'm shameless) I remember how hard it was, with my levels too low... Changing the subject...for this sotry, I've created yet another crazy story, but...the last time, I told Arhes's story, so this time, I thought it'd be good to tell Luhna's. I draw just whatever pops into my head as it comes, so it makes things kind of crazy...sorry (lol) It feels like I'm drawing nothing but stories that make me do nothing but cry... It'd be nice if I could draw a happy one next time--. pg. 27 [A portrait of Killy.] Killy: "......I'll protect you." AFTERWORD It's the afterword. I've been drawing Lunar for about half a year now, and I've really enjoyed it. Soon, Lunar: Eternal Blue will be out. (I'll probably be playing it around the time this comes out - I'm so excited!) I wanna draw an Eternal Blue book next. I have stuff I'm planing on drawing for Silver Star, though, so I'll just have to keep at it with Lunar. Thank you for sticking with me this far. Let's do this again! 7/1998 Hiro Yuyama pg. 28 Special Thanks Takatou-san Atori-san (because they helped [beam]) PUBLICATION NOTES LUNAR SILVER STAR STORY BLUE MOON SONG II Publication Date: August 14, 1998 Produced by: Sora no Mori Publisher: Taiyou Shuppan Mailing Address: Kanako Yamaguchi (Hiro Yuyama) 3-3-9 Motohongo-cho Hachioji-shi, Tokyo 192-0051
