I especially liked the "with a fanfare" parts. This song was on the bonus CD [the premium CD that came with the first printing of the Mega-CD version of Eternal Blue], but I'm glad it was included here. Translation Notes: Much of stanza 2 probably doesn't make immediate sense to a lot of readers because of two outstanding Japanese culture references... "Hana yori dango" ("dumplings are better than flowers") is a Japanese aphorism that means that practical things are better than pretty but merely decorative and otherwise useless things. The gold and iron axes bit refers to a Japanese folk tale concerning a woodcutter who loses his axe (an iron one) in a lake. The spirit of the lake appears to him with an axe made of gold, asking him if it's the one he lost; the woodcutter replies truthfully that his axe was made of much- less valuable iron, and the man is rewarded by the spirit for his honesty. (There's actually a little version of this tale in Zelda 3...) Translation by Rebecca Capowski at RACapowski@sceneryrecalled.com, rechecked 2/19/11, so scream at her if you note any errors.
